DuettistsRuth Jones and Val Owen |
| Ruth Jones and Val Owen have both sung with the choir almost since its inception. They
are very accomplished singers with excellent voices, having been trained by well-known
vocal coaches, and are well known in the Montgomeryshire music fraternity. Ruth and Val
feature prominently in our concert programmes as duettists and are much in demand to take
the stage in and around Montgomeryshire.

Choral soloistsSolo lines in some of the choral works we perform are taken by members of the choir. Soloists include Ruth Jones and Val Owen (our duettists) and Carol Bessell. Carol BessellCarol is a Canadian who came to Wales in 2001 and joined the choir in 2006. Trained in Canada by Gwent Lewis, a retired Welsh operatic tenor, she was a successful participant in Provincial Music Festivals. Carol was a member of Memorial University of Newfoundland Festival Choir, Chamber Choir and Madrigal Group, and a chorister and soloist with Newfoundland Anglican Cathedral Choir. |
