Côr Merched Maldwyn was very pleased to be invited by the recently
elected Chairman of Powys County Council, County Councillor Viola E Evans, to sing at her
inaugural Civic Service on 29th June 2008 at St Mary's Church, Llanfair Caereinion. The
congregation of 300 included Chairmen and Mayors from all over Wales and over the border
together with County and Town Councillors, representatives from various organisations and
Charities with which the new Chairman is associated, and friends and supporters. The
Service was followed by refreshments at the Function Room at Llanfair Caereinion's Leisure
Centre, where the guests were again entertained by Côr Merched Maldwyn. The choir wished
the chairman a very fufulling, rewarding and happy twelve months. |
